Super Size Me
Do we really know how bad we eat ? Or better saying: do we know the consequences of a hypercaloric diet and of fast food? Well, this is the question that the documentary 'Super Size Me' makes. And a typical answer will probably be 'no'! We don't know what we eat!
This is a problem and Morgan Spurlock ( The protagonist and director) shows us what would happen to a person that only ate fast food for a month.
The experiment had only four rules :
*He (Sperlock) needed to eat every thing in Mc Donald's menu at least once
*he could Super Size the meals only when asked
*he could just eat foood from Mc Donald's, water included
*and he needed to have three meals a day
At the beginig we really don't know what will happen and this makes the project more appealing. Morgan had a lot of experts with him and we can follow what happened to his health step by step.
The documentary showed the problems caused by a diet with lots of sugar and fat. Yihs is even worse for children, who can lose 17-27 years of life, if they have, for example, diabetes before fifiteen.
It also showed a list of disases that overwheight persons tend to have:
*Hypertension
*Coronary heart disease
*Stroke
*Gall Bladder disease
*Osteoasthritis
*Sleep Apnea
*Respiratory Problems
*Cancer
*Dyslipidemia
* Steatohepatitis
* Insulin resistence
* Asthma
* Hyperuricemia
* Reprodutive hormone abnormalities
* Polycystic ovarian syndrome
* Impaired fertility
* Diabetes
This list of more than 15 etms shows how important it is to eat properly and to take care orf our health. In the USA, obesity kills nearly the same number of people as smoking.
The documentary made me think about my way of life and now I am sure of one thingÇ
I DON'T WANT TO SEE ANY FAST SOOD RESTAURANT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!!!!!!
Mc Donald's hs eliminated the Super Size options after the documentary, so I think that it caused a positive impact in helping people to eat better and to have a good health.

Super Size Me: A second view of the documentary
This documentary film by Morgan Spurlock asks the topical question: What would happen to a normal 33-year-old man in perfect health if he ate nothing but McDonald's fast food for thirty days?
Instead, the results were pretty shocking. Spurlock put on a lot of weight, saw his cholesterol increases, and experienced frequent nausea and mood swings.
“Super Size Me” also showed that the fast food industry isn’t the only culprit of the obesity, because nobody is pushing the food down people throats. We eat what we want, and we have to know what we are eating, if it’s good or not.
This documentary shows what the damaging effects can be of eating fast food. Watching this film makes you want to stay away from the fast food restaurants, but if not, it'll make you think more about what you are eating.
